Farmers Market Feasibility Study
Humphreys County is currently conducting a Farmers Market Feasibility Study, and community participation is needed. As part of this study, two surveys have been developed to gather feedback that will help determine interest in establishing a farmers market and guide future planning.
One survey is intended for community members and potential customers, while the second survey is for farmers, growers, and potential vendors who may be interested in selling products at a local market.
Input from both residents and vendors is important to help assess demand, identify potential participants, and better understand what a successful farmers market in Humphreys County could look like.

Solid Waste Board Meeting
Pursuant to the Tennessee Open Meetings Act (T.C.A. § 8-44-101 et seq.), notice is hereby given that the Humphreys County Solid Waste Board will meet on Tuesday, March 24 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Rawlings Building Chamber Room at 102 Thompson St. in Waverly.
Administrative Committee Meeting
The public will take notice that in accordance with the regulations of the Sunshine Law the regular Administrative Committee Meeting of Commissioners scheduled for April 6, 2026 will take place at 9:00 a.m. with a Budget Workshop to follow immediately thereafter in the Chamber Room of the Rawlings Building at 102 Thompson St, Waverly, TN.
Inclement Weather & Safety Notice
As inclement weather approaches, we encourage all residents to prepare now and prioritize safety.
If road conditions become hazardous, please do not attempt to travel unless absolutely necessary. Take time to check on family members, friends, and neighbors—especially those who may be elderly or have special needs. If you become aware of an emergency situation or need assistance, do not hesitate to contact emergency services.
Generator Safety Reminder
If you plan to use a generator during power outages, always operate it outdoors only, far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never use generators inside homes, garages, porches, or near enclosed spaces due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Follow all manufacturer instructions and ensure proper ventilation at all times.

Attention Citizens, Surveyors, Contractors, and Real Estate Professionals
Humphreys County participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). As part of this program, any construction, fill, grading, or other development in proximity of a flood zone area requires a county permit prior to beginning work.
Property owners and professionals are urged to verify whether a property lies within the flood zone before starting any project. Failure to obtain the necessary permits can result in delays, penalties, or loss of NFIP compliance.

The Tennessee State Treasurer’s Office notified Humphreys County there are 12,179 unclaimed properties worth over $1 million waiting to be claimed. Unclaimed property can include forgotten bank accounts, refunds, utility deposits, uncashed checks, and more. It’s free, secure, and easy to check. County Commission
The County Commission meets the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. (or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). The meeting is located in the Board Room of the Rawlings Building.
Administrative Committee
Meets the 1st Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Rawlings Building. Exceptions: January Meeting will be Tuesday, January 2nd, September meeting will be Tuesday, September 3rd.
School Board
Meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Humphreys County Board of Education. Exception: March meeting will be on the 1st Thursday, which is March 7th.
Library Board
Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each quarter at 2:30 p.m. at the Library.
Planning Commission
Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month (or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). Plat submissions are due three Fridays before the scheduled meeting date. Note: There is no meeting in December. »Planning Commission Meeting Calendar
Jail Oversight Committee
Meets the 1st Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Rawlings Building. Exceptions: January Meeting will be Tuesday, January 2nd, September meeting will be Tuesday, September 3rd.
E-911 Board
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every other month (Feb, Apr, June, Aug, Oct, Dec) at 4:00 p.m. at the Waverly Municipal Building.
